Reaching out to community

CHARITY cards and gifts were available at Grosvenor Park when a Christmas fair was held for residents and visitors to stock up.

Activities organiser at the home Jo Sullivan was thrilled at how the event went and the enthusiastic participation of local charities.

She commented: “This is an opportunity for us to open the home completely free of charge to encourage local community involvement, and it is an opportunity for local charities to fundraise.

“As a home we do look to have community involvement, and when we have events on we try to encourage other local people, maybe those who are living on their own, to join us.

“We are thrilled to bits at how this has gone. You can never gauge how many people will come but I am absolutely delighted with those who have come in today and supported these charities.”

Taking part were local branches of Parkinsons UK, Oxfam, BHF, Barby Keel, RNLI, Royal British Legion, and MIND.
