Reader welcomed to the diocese at cathedral service

Eight Readers who have completed three years of training in Chichester Diocese were admitted and licensed in a moving service by the Bishop of Horsham in Chichester Cathedral on Saturday September 21.

The service was attended by the new Warden of Readers, Revd Dr Paul Rampton and the Chichester Diocesan Secretary for Readers, Simon Quail.

Mr Quail said: “The eight newly licensed Readers join 270 Readers across the diocese who, through their many and diverse gifts, share the Good News of Jesus Christ in the communities in which they serve.

“We welcome these new Readers and pray that they may continue to know God’s presence with them as they carry out their ministry.” Readers welcomed to the diocese and licensed were: Mark Alderton (Southgate), Joy Gilliver (Brighton), Alison Hassell (Battle), Charmaine Hill (Hollington), Steve Moyise (Chichester) Carol Shepherd (Itchingfield), Clive Simmonds (Cuckfield) and Alec Synge (Ticehurst).
