READER'S PICTURE: Police car flips over

This picture from an Express reader shows the scene after a police car overturned.

A fire arms unit car, on routine patrol from Lewes police HQ, hit a parked vehicle in Priory Street, Lewes, just before 4.30am today (Wednesday).

An ambulance rushed to the scene but the officers in the car did not suffer any injuries.

A Priory Street resident told the Express: 'We were woken up at around

4.30am by a horrific noise, only to look out of the windows and find a police car on its roof.

'Two officers were unharmed and walked away from the vehicle.'

A full investigation will be made by police crash investigators.

The police car was severely damaged. Insurance details were exchanged with the damaged parked car's owner.
