“With this summit, I am looking to build on the successes of past years which brought us major steps forward with campaigns to develop our area’s rail services,” Ms Rudd said.

“This event will add to the work of councils, businesses, MPs, transport campaigners and members of the public who have pushed for better infrastructure and transport provision in our area – from the major projects of dualling the A21 and campaigning for High Speed Rail, to the improvements which can be made to our everyday bus and train journeys.”

The summit will be held at Sussex Coast College Hastings from 10am, with arrivals welcome from 9.30am on Friday, March 18.
