Riding school plans backed

ROTHER members gave enthusiastic backing to proposals for a new skills centre at the Pebsham Riding School.

Councillors on the planning committee granted full planning permission for classroom facilities, disabled toilets, showers, a canteen and office accommodation.

The riding school, on Pebsham Lane, already has indoor and outdoor arenas with stables offices and paddocks. The school has been commended for its work with disabled riders and community groups.

Cllr Deirdre Williams said: "I think it is absolutely superb. I am so impressed by this site and the way they have gone about the whole thing.

"It fits in so well with the proposed Pebsham Countryside Park. We have supported the countryside park for a long time and this will fit in so well with the ambience of the whole park and is brilliant too for Pebsham."

Ward member Cllr Martyn Forster said: "I am really excited by this project. it is a wonderful piece of news for Pebsham."
