ST MARY’S: This Sunday sees our family tea time service at 4pm. There will be songs and the nativity story plus some fun activities followed by a few festive treats. All ages are welcome and this is particularly good for younger children. At 8am, our curate Lucy will take a service of Mattins at 8am, a simple and thoughtful service to start the day. The Eucharist for Advent takes place at 10am with traditional readings, the gospel, hymns and the giving of bread and wine at communion. At 6pm we hope that many will join the Baptist church in the Village Hall for Carols by Candlelight. Details of our Christmas services will be in next week’s Village News.
CAROLS & COFFEE: Our annual get-together to choose and sing some of our favourite carols, takes place at Ringmer Village Hall on Tuesday 20th December commencing at 7.30pm. We will be joined, as usual, by the church choir and members of the ‘Singalong’ group and, this year, we welcome St Mary’s Handbell Ringers. Coffee and mince pies will be served in the interval. Entrance is £1 (accompanied children free) and there will be a retiring collection, all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK. If you require transport, please ‘phone John Payne (01273-812501)
