Rob Devo and Howard Crompton will be taking on the exhausting 26.2-mile circuit around the seaside city, on April 14, in an attempt to raise cash for lifeboat charity the RNLI.

The pair, who are based at the Littlehampton lifeboat station, are certainly no strangers to fund-raising efforts.

Last year, Rob was part of a trio of crewmen to take part in the wacky Ramshackle Rally which saw him, Liam Clark and Simon Tann, race 1,600 miles across France, Switzerland and Italy to Croatia, in their 16-year-old Honda Accord.

Howard has run several half and full marathons and was one of those to take part in the 24-hour long “rowathon”, inside the Littlehampton Tesco, in Broadpiece, earlier this year.

Rob said: “I have been on the RNLI lifeboat crew in Littlehampton for around six years.

“Each year, we get called out around 100 times to help people in difficulties. This would not be possible without your generous donations. The RNLI is run entirely on charity money raised and donated.”

He added: “This marathon has taken over my life recently, running four times a week to prepare. Please take the time to give a small donation to help my motivation!”

The pair have raised a combined total of £100 on their sites.
