Robbery suspect arrested

A MAN has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Heathfield building society after his picture was seen in the Sussex Express.

A police spokesman said the man was arrested after a member of the public saw a CCTV picture of the raider in the Express, on Friday, October 5.

The 45-year-old man from the Wadhurst area was arrested at 3pm on Thursday last week and released on police bail until Tuesday December 11.

The spokesman said: Thanks to intelligence given to us by someone who identified the individual by the front page picture on the Sussex Express earlier this month, a man has been arrested.

Investigations are continuing.
