Bonfire season is well under way now with Hastings last week and Staplecross tomorrow. Which means its only three weeks to go until Robertsbridge will be putting on the village event of the year. Marshals and collectors are still needed. If you are interested the next Bonfire Society meetings are on Thursday 7th and 14th November at Robertsbridge Club starting at 8pm where you can offer your help or you can go and see Sandie at the Floral Boutique and give her your details.

On Friday 1st November there will be ` Film Night` at Robertsbridge Hall with doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm film start.

The film this month is `Behind the Candelabra`, well worth a visit.

New classes for ballet, tap and modern with the East Sussex School of Performing Arts is starting at Robertsbridge Youth Centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting on 12th/13th November. Classes will be between 4.15pm – 7.15pm with registration day being on 6th November between 4.15pm – 6.15pm. We would like to send best wishes to Anna Stevens for a speedy recovery from her recent ill health and hope to see her back behind the counter of the Floral Boutique as soon as possible. Even if it is just having a cuppa and a chat as its not been the same without her.

Please remember that the clocks go back an hour this week end and we all get an hour extra sleep. Which means it’s going to get darker earlier so please be careful when coming home from school and work, and drivers please remember to put lights on.

LADIES DARTS We played at home against The Bear last week and were losing 3-2 after single wins for Carol Apps and Eileen Morgan but we levelled the score at 4-4 after doubles victories for Steph Goldsmith/Carol and Jackie Danaher/Eileen. The match was won with wins for Alice Hodges/Frankie Taylor/Steph and Jackie/Carol/Eileen in the trebles for a 6-5 victory. There were high scores for Carol[110,99,93,83], Steph[98,89], Jackie[92], Frankie[83] and Eileen[82]. Monday 28th we are at home to The White Hart III 8p.m.

FRIDAY DARTS We beat Mountfield Club ‘B’ 5-2 in the single darts with victories for Richard Hawthorne, Michael Stone, Justin Hardy, Dan Smith and Frankie Taylor while Richard/Dan won the Mens Pairs 1-0 and there was victory for Alice Hodges/Justin 2-0 in the Mixed Pairs and a 2-1 win for Frankie/Alice in the Ladies Pairs. There were 100+ scores for Keith Stone[140,121], Justin[140], Dan[121], Michael[116], Richard[100 x 4] and Frankie[100]. We lost pushpenny 3-2 with wins for Dave Goodsell and Michael Stone with ‘goldwatches’ for Dave[2] and Dave Fortsch[2]. Tonight we have a bye.
