A few weeks ago: I ran a piece on the young woman, Louise Ballard, from our village raising funds to get her treatment for the cancer that she has. Her family would like to thank everyone that has donated so far and to let you know that it is still ongoing. There are some events coming up in Hastings, which I will write about next week. But if you would like to donate there is a collection box in the Floral Boutique or a Just-giving page on Facebook. Please help if you can, as she needs all of our help.

Mothers Day: is next Sunday, don’t forget to use our local shops, farm shops, hostelries when organising your gifts.

FOOTBALL: The Bridge travelled to Tilekiln last week for their Macron East Sussex Football League Premier Division clash with St.Leonards Social. The Social started well when The Bridge failed to clear a cross and the hiome strkier netted from the edge of the box but The Bridge responded 3 minutes later when Dan Goodsell scored from the penalty spot. The rest of the half was fairly even as was most of the second period until 10 minutes from the end when a corner was met by man of the match Ben Hardy whose header across the box was hooked home by Josh MacNab for all three points. Tomorrow the 1st team are back at Tilekiln against Ore Athletic while the 2nd team are at home to Bexhill Spartans in Division 5 with both matches K.O. 3p.m.

FRIDAY DARTS: It was darts singles knockout last week and Michael Stone got through to the semi-final stage. Tonight we are at Mountfield Club against The Millers Arms in the Darts Knockout Cup Final while we play The Old King John in the Pushpenny Knockout Cup Final 8p.m.
