Finally: just a word about `Breachys` funeral on Monday. His family and friends did him proud. The Church at Salehurst was packed with so many people that showed how much Simon was loved among all walks of life. There was great music, and very touching tributes paid that made everyone laugh and cry. He then took his last trip on a vintage flat bed lorry with cars and landrovers behind along the A21 to Hastings where he met another huge group of friends and family. Lovely tributes from his close family, the crematorium was again full. He was such a well-loved bloke that everyone will miss.

Sadly in the early hours of Monday, Martin Lawrence passed away, making the pain for Caroline, Amber, Bethany, Helen and Rita double fold on this day. But they carried on with great dignity and love and our condolences go out to them at this very tough time.

Skipper Mel Mackay lost the toss and the visitors decided to bat first and an opening partnership of 53 between Lisa(62) and Tina(10) was broken when Lisa Fifield(1-10) had Tina caught by Sarah Clark. Jackie(33 retired) joined Lisa to put on 54 before Lisa was bowled by Lou Taylor(1-15) and then young Becks(7n.o.) and Louise(6n.o.) saw Pett reach 139-2 off their allotted 11 overs. There was just 12 runs on the board in reply when Jackie Kuhler(7) was bowled and just 7 runs later Lou(3) was run out. Abigail Green(30) and Sarah Clark(65 retired) put on 68 to steady the innings before Abigail was run out which brought in young Charlie Apps(6) who shared a 22 run partnership with Sarah before she was bowled. Sarah retired with the score on 144 to allow her daughter Alisha(3n.o.) and Lucy Kuhler(8n.o.) to see out the innings and reach 150-4. The Mixed played at Staplecross last Thursday and were put into bat with Keith Apps(14) and Sarah Clark(42) sharing an opening partnership of 49 before Keith was caught which brought in JJ Boast(97n.o.) to share a 99 run partnership but then wickets fell quickly as Penny Clark(0), Jackie Kuhler(2), Lucy Kuhler(3) and Diane Kitson(0n.o.) saw us finish our 11 overs on 179-5. Staplecross lost their first wicket with the score on 7 when Graham Clark(2-1-33) clean bowled Bronia(3) and when Nick(20) was bowled by Keith the hosts were on 32 but a stand of 149 between Carolyn(40) and Adrian(101n.o.) saw the hosts win by 14 runs.
