Robertsbridge & District Archaeological Society: is holding its meeting this evening Friday May 8th starting off with the AGM at 7.30pm. The topic for the talk afterwards is `Royal Visits to Kent` by Colin Breed, all are welcome to attend.

St Mary’s Salehurst: are holding services on Rogation Sunday 10th May starting at 9am with Holy Communion at the Mission Room in Fair Lane. At 11am it will be sung Eucharist and blessing of crops at Salehurst. This is a short addition to the Sunday Service when the vicar, choir and congregation take to the fields behind the Church for a blessing. This is all part of the rich tapestry of village life. Please feel free to go along and join in. After morning service the St Mary’s 100 Club draw will take place at the Salehurst Halt. Contact Roger Cowap on 880427 for details on this.

Tomorrow Saturday 9th May is the Spring Market and Plant Sale at Robertsbridge hall between 10.30am and 2.30pm. This event is to support the church.

Salehurst Primary School: are collecting for Malawi. Items needed are, school bags, toothbrushes, solar wind up torches, children’s clothes, first aid, soup, water proof mattress covers, stationery, sewing materials, flannels, gardening tools. All these and more are needed for the deserving people that will receive them. Please if you have anything to donate take it to the School on Monday 11th May.

Robertsbridge Children’s Services: would like to thank the staff, management and customers of One Stop in Robertsbridge for raising almost £50 by holding a raffle and colouring competition.

They are also collecting Sainsburys Active Kids vouchers if you have any; please drop them off when passing.

Robertsbridge Bonfire Society: have moved the date of the Annual Auction of Promises to Friday 19th June. They are in need of lots to sell so if you would like to donate an item, your time or a skill please ring either Pete Claridge on 880468 or Eric Vidler on 880135 for further details or arranging for your item to be collected. The more that is donated for the society to sell the better it is for Bonfire Celebrations in November. Also a reminder that membership for this year is due.

DARTS: Tonight is the Mens Singles at The MIllers Arms 8p.m. A date for your diary the next popular Open Darts Pairs Knockout is on Sunday 24th May 2015 @ Robertsbridge Club with registration at 7.30p.m. Entrance is just £1 for a night of fun with a raffle and cheap drinks.

FOOTBALL: The 1st team finished their Macron East Sussex Football League Premier Division at home to Hollington United last Saturday and despite their bottom of the table position The Bridge could have taken the lead if Tom Ripley’ 15th minute shot had not gone straight into the opposing keepers hands and then just a minute later a shot from man of the match Justin Mewett was saved. Both sides had chances before The Bridge conceded 6 minutes before the break. The second period saw the visitors take command with a goal on 67 minutes and then have a goal disallowed on 84 minutes but they did secure all three points when poor defending let them in on 88 minutes. The Annual Presentation will be on Saturday 30th May 2015 @ Robertsbridge Club 8p.m.

STOOLBALL: The Ladies are at home to Hooe on Thursday 14th May 2015 6.45p.m. and then on Sunday 17th May 2015 we are holding our Mixed Tournament at The Cricket Ground from 10.30a.m. There will be refreshments available and a raffle so come and enjoy the oldest game in Sussex in pleasant surroundings.
