Darts: The season will soon be upon us so lets get practising and we start with a fund-raiser as the very popular Open Pairs Darts Knockout returns on Sunday 24th August 2014 to Robertsbridge Club with registration at 7.30p.m. for anybody to come and have some fun for just £1 per player. There will of course be a raffle but the main event is the draw for the pairs and the subsequent matches that follow so enjoy the bank holiday weekend in excellent friendly surroundings and of course a good pint.

Stoolball: Tuesday [5th] saw the Mixed team travel to Icklesham. An opening partnership of 41 between Josh Lewis[29] and Sophie Turner[16] was broken in the 4th over when we lost three wickets with Josh getting caught, Keith Apps bowled the next ball and Ian Kitson [1] being caught on 44-3. JJ Boast [22] joined Sophie to put on 23 before she was caught and then Melinda Mackay [34] put on 28 before JJ was caught. Richard Apps [8], Jem Ahsam [10n.o.] and Diane Kitson [3n.o.] got us to 145-7 off the alloted 12 overs. The hosts reached 39 before they lost their first wicket and then another two went in Diane’[3-18] over while Keith[1-12] had the hosts reeling on 40-4 but a partnership of 102 between Kevin [70n.o.] and Shona [31] gave them certain victory but there was time for JJ [1-18] and Richard [1-24] to take wickets as the hosts finished on 163-6. This Sunday[17th] is our Mixed Tournament at The Cricket Ground starting at 10.30a.m. while on Tuesday[19th] we host Brightling and on Thursday[21st] we host Ashburnham with both matches starting at 6.45p.m.
