Stoolball : The Ladies hosted Pett on Tuesday(20th) and the visitors batted first with Janet[112n.o.] and Sophie[33n.o.] taking their total to 149-0 in the alloted 10 overs. We lost Melinda Mackay on the first ball and then Penny Clark[5] was caught but a third wicket partnership of 29 between Sarah Farthers[56] and Sophie Turner[12] stopped the rot and contributions from Abigail Fifield[10], Jack Dean[8], Claire Hatter[3], Kayley Sherwood[5n.o.] and Sarah Clark[3n.o.] saw us reach 119-7 for a 30 run defeat. On Thursday(22nd) the Mixed played at Staplecross with the hosts batting first skipper Adrian[74] and Carolyn[41n.o.] were the main scorers in their 155-3 with Melinda Mackay[1-12] and Ian Kitson[1-16] our wicket takers while Sophie Turner and JJ Boast took catches. In reply JJ was out first ball but a second wicket partnership of 40 between Graham Clark[13] and Sophie[19] steadied the innings but Shawn Green[8], Keith Apps[7] and Ian Kitson[0] added a few runs however in was left to skipper Richard Apps[27n.o.] and Abigail Fifield[9n.o.] to get us to 106-6 for a 49 run defeat. Next week the Ladies are at home to Icklesham on Tuesday(3rd June) while the Mixed are away to Pett on Thursday(5th) with both matches starting at 6.45p.m.
