Jean, suzanne & Joanne Pennells would like to thank everyone who came to John’s funeral & to thank everyone for their kind thoughts. It was lovely to see how many people John knew. John’s passing will leave not only a big gap in their lives but in Robertsbridge

Now that Robertsbridge Bonfire Society have held their AGM subs are now due, £10 single over 18 membership, £15 one parent familymembership & £20. family membership. You have until the 31st August to get paid. You can pay them to either Sarah at any meeting or go into Sandie at The Floral Boutique . This is also the time for anyone that would like to join the Society to do so. Membership forms are available from Sandie . If anyone can donate an item or some of their professional time for the Societies Acution of Promise’s then please contact [email protected] & please come along on the night as this is a key fundraiser for much needed unds that are needed to help towards the cost of putting the Bonfire event on.

Unfortunatley there will be no Roast Dinner at The Robertsbridge Club this coming Sunday, but it will return next month on Sunday 26th May

The Robertsbridge Club has it’s AGM this Friday starting at 8pm. This is open to ALL members of the Club to come along & see what has been happening, plans for the future & also a chance to join the Committee & get involved in the running of the Club.

Friday 3rd May the brilliant band ‘Under the Covers’ will be playing at The Robertsbridge Club. An excellent band that cover a wide range of music & that won the ‘ Best Live Act’ category in the Hastings &St Leonards Music Awards. Members again are FREE & non members & guests £3.00.

Ladies darts: None of our ladies managed to get into the semi-finals of the singles knockout last week. On Wednesday we played the 2nd leg of the semi-final of the team knockout cup at Ticehurst Club with a 6-5 lead from the 1st leg. We lost the first two singles but recovered with wins for Rosemary Clifford, Steph Goldsmith, Dawn Mitchell and with doubles victories for Carol Apps/Rosemary and Alice Hodges/Steph we looked good to win the match and get into the final but we lost all the trebles which levelled the overall score at 11-11 so the last trebles was played again which we lost. On Monday[29th] we play the Pairs Knockout Cup at Ticehurst Club.

Darts: The Mens Singles Knockout saw Guy Ballard and Michael Stone progress into the semi-finals which is being played tonight at The Kings Head. The popular Pairs Darts Knockout is back on Sunday 5th May 2013 with registration at 7.30p.m. and an entrance fee of £1 per player. We have arranged a coach to go to Hove Dogs on Saturday 25th May 2013 leaving Robertsbridge Club at 5.30p.m. Cost is £10 and we must have the money when you book. Stoolball: Training is every Thursday at the Cricket Ground @6.30p.m. We are looking to for anybody who would be interested in playing this ‘Old Sussex Game’. Don’t worry if you’ve never played before just come and enjoy our friendly club and we will teach you how to play.
