The London Marathon will be on April 22nd this year and there are two young men from the village running it this year to raise funds for the Cardiomyopathy Association. Sam and Jamie Pither know first hand how this condition can affect people’s lives as their mother was diagnosed with it in 2000. Cardiomyopathy is an inherited heart muscle disease that affects people of all ages including babies. This charity is the only one in the country that is dedicated to helping families through support and information, and Sam and Jamie would like to raise £3000.00 to give something back for the help their family have received. If you would like to make a donation, no matter how big or how small you can do so online at Sam’s web page: uk.virginmoneygiving.com/sampither or in person to 74 Millrise. If you would like any further information on this condition you can call 0800 0181 024 or visit www.cardiomyopathy.org

The Salehurst Halt 2012 Calendar Sales has just tipped over £3000.00 with the money going to St. Michaels Hospice. They would like to thank everyone that has helped with the selling and the promoting of sales, as the Hospice is very grateful to receive such a good size donation. There are still a few calendars available from the Halt and other outlets in the village at a reduced price of £7.00

Sandie at the Floral Boutique now has a Diary for use by organisations and groups, or anybody in the village that is setting up an event this year. This has been tried before and does help in the benefit of not having too many events clashing on the same dates. If you want to know details of a specific date or have a date to put in for others to check on please feel free to contact Sandie on 880977 or go into the shop and have a look for yourself. This will run along side the Robertsbridge website so hopefully it will cater for non-computer buffs and be of help to everyone.
