Robertsbridge woman hurt in ambulance crash

AN ELDERLY woman from Robertsbridge is in a serious condition in hospital after her car collided with an ambulance.

Emergency services were called to St Helen’s Road in Hastings to a serious collision between a car and non-emergency ambulance at 12.40pm on Tuesday (August 13).

The 70-year-old was driving a blue Subaru Forester which collided with the rear of an non-emergency patient transport vehicle at traffic lights at the junction with Parkstone Road.

The woman was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings with serious injuries.

The ambulance driver, a 47-year-old man, and two patients travelling in the ambulance, a 50-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.
