Ben Cheal will jet off to Morocco for the Marathon des Sables 2015 next Friday. Often referred to as the toughest footrace on earth, the 250 kilometre race takes place over six days in temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius.

Ben is aiming to raise £20,000 to be split between two charities – The High Five Club which works with impoverished communities in wildlife areas of Africa and Herons Dale Primary School in Shoreham, which specialises in working with children with special educational needs.

He said blisters are his biggest fear.

“There are some horror stories and gruesome pictures of past competitors’ blisters on the internet. I have prepared as much as I can for stopping or treating them, but until the race gets going, you never know if they will be an issue or not.”
