Rolling along for Hayley

WORTHING seafront will host all sorts of wheels on Thursday for a charity event.

Kids On Wheels will see parents and children alike journey from Grand Avenue to Worthing Pier on different sets of wheels to raise money for safer nightclubbing and safer rail crossings.

The Remember Hayley - Come Home Safe campaign started after the death of Worthing girl Hayley Owen, who died on the Drayton level crossing near Chichester after a night out at a nearby nightclub.

Thursday's event will start at Grand Avenue at 11am and will finish with a minute's silence in memory of Hayley around midday.

Hayley's mum, Cynthia Owen, said: "Hayley's death left her son, Kieran, without a mother. I lost a daughter and all Hayley's mates lost a good friend who was the life and soul of every party. We don't want the same thing to happen to any other youngster."

Anyone wanting to take part or to sponsor the event can contact Cynthia on [email protected]. Details of the Campaign are on the "Remember Hayley '“ Come Home Safe" web site at www.rememberhayley.org.uk
