Rye charity’s bright Bohemian spirit

For the first time ARRCC Rye was joined by ARRCC Folkestone for the exhibition entitled Bohemian Spirit.

Jenny Edbrooke from Rye and Sally Higgs from Folkestone curated amazing and beautiful works by members from both Centres.

During the year members guided by tutors and volunteers have been working hard making ceramics, mosaics and Christmas gifts to add to their art works that were displayed in the Gallery.

The Care staff rolled up their sleeves and made Christmas cakes, jams, chutneys and goodies to sell on the day.

Their home made cakes and shortbread and tea and coffee were also on offer to refresh the visitors to the Exhibition and Fair.

ARRCC chief executive Grace O’Neill said: “A very big Thank you to our Rye Mayor Shaun Rogers, Sarah Owen, prospective MP for Hastings and Rye, Rother chairman Ian Jenkins, Winchelsea Deputy Mayor John Spencer and all who attended ARRCC’s Art Exhibition once again supporting us in our valuable work.

“2013 has been a very difficult year for all those involved with ARRCC Day Services, and it was wonderful to see the positive results of hard work and dedication from ARRCC staff and volunteers.

“ARRCC welcomes volunteers, and in particular we are looking for Trustees with skills in business and finance to join our Board and work with our enthusiastic and supportive team.”
