Rye fight back againstrising energy bills

HOME owners will be able to get information and advice on how to avoid high bills when Rye Energy Day takes place on Saturday.

The event, which takes place at Tilling Green Community Centre, in Rye, from 10am - 2pm, has the backing of the two local MP’s Amber Rudd and Greg Barker.

Amber Rudd said: “This is great news to see such momentum in Rye in order to help people address rising energy bills. This is a really important area.”

Greg Barker said: ““The Coalition is committed to helping hard-pressed consumers with the rising cost of energy bills.

“This includes an ambitious approach to community energy. I want to see many more people benefitting from local energy generation and I very much welcome Rye Energy Day.”

There will be speakers from Community Energy schemes in Lewes and Cornwall as well as ideas shared for community energy in and around Rye.

Refreshments will be available.

The event is organised by Transition Rye and sponsored by Rother Environmental Group.
