Rye Jubilee art challenge

A YOUNG Rye artist could find their Diamond Jubilee design immortalised in the Town Hall.

Diamond Rye is an art competition for children and young people to celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee year.

It was organised by Rye Town Council after being suggested by councillors Jonathan Breeds and Ian Potter.

The winning design will be turned into a tile which will hang in Rye Town Hall.

The winner of each category will also receive a plaque with their design printed on it.

Categories are for 4 – 8 years; 9 – 12 years and 13- 17 years.

All entries must be submitted by 5pm on Saturday 30th June 2012 and be no bigger than 15cm x 15cm.

The winners will have their designs revealed by the Right Worshipful the Mayor of Rye at a ceremony to be held at Rye Town Hall during September 2012.

Entries, accompanied with name, address and date of birth to be submitted to:

Rye Town Hall, Market Street, Rye; or The Standard Inn, The Mint, Rye.

Entrants must either live in the parish of Rye or attend a school within the parish.
