Rye unveils plans to celebrate Jubilee in style
RYE is getting set to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee next week.
Events in the town include a procession and picnic in the church yard, organised by Rye Churches Together, and a civic service at St Mary’s Church.
A special family event takes place at Tilling Green Community Centre from 11am on Saturday June 2 with a Battle of Britain fly-past later that day.
Monday night sees the lighting of Rye’s beacon on Cadborough Cliff and a firework display.
Rye Chamber of Commerce is in the process of putting up bunting in the town.
