Santa's public farewell to his beard

Santa Claus has worked hard throughout December bringing joy to all the boys and girls.

Now he has to disguise himself to live amongst us throughout the rest of the year – and to do this he has to remove his lovely beard. With support from the public.

During the interval of Jack and the Beanstalk, at The Barn Theatre, Seaford, on Saturday (January 23) the best Santa in Sussex will be returning to his inconspicuous alter ego – Robert Horscraft – until the festive season returns in 2016.

Sponsors are being sought for the ‘Shave Santa’ event and money donated will be used by Seaford Musical Theatre Juniors to host a fabulous ‘Just Because’ party for children who have suffered illness, such as cancer, bereavement or trauma and give them magical memories to help through harder times.

‘Just Because’ parties are also supported by Children With Cancer (Polegate), Teddy Treats Children’s Charity and the Builders Club, Seaford.

The ‘Shave Santa’ event will only be open to those who have already purchased tickets for the Saturday evening performance of Jack and the Beanstalk – but will be filmed and uploaded on YouTube and Facebook for all sponsors to see. Donations are welcome at www.localgiving.com/shavesanta
