Sarah's parents officially opened the garden, the centrepiece of which is a raised flowerbed. It will now be used as a socialising area for students.

Headteacher Adrian Money said: 'It was a lovely idea of Sarah's friends to construct this garden, which provides youngsters with a place to sit quietly and enjoy the stunning views over the Channel.

The opening ceremony was also attended by members of the PTFA who wished to remember Lynn Morris, who died last year.

Lynn was the PTFA's first treasurer and she did much work to help establish the association two years ago. A seat in the memorial garden has been dedicated to her memory.
