School building could be an office

A call has been made for a Bognor Regis Community College building to become an office block.

The college's lower school in Pevensey Road is due to be replaced by housing when the 40m redevelopment of the site is completed in 2010.

But Bognor Regis Civic Society member Gary Oakes told its meeting on Tuesday, December 2 that would be a waste of a relatively modern building. It could easily be converted into offices to provide space for much-needed jobs.

His idea will be discussed by civic society officers at their next meeting with council regeneration officers.
