Schools support hospice

A PAIR of schools have helped St Michael's Hospice buy a host of new toys and games for young visitors.

Pupils of St Mary Star of the Sea in Hastings and Chantry School in Bexhill who raised the cash visited the hospice last week so see the new toys unveiled and receive thanks from staff.

From doctors and nurses fancy dress outfits to classic wooden building bricks and story telling puppets, the games are set to go down a storm with young visitors.

All the toys are also easily transported to a bedside.

Perdita Chamberlain, head of fundraising, also added her thanks to the Early Learning Centre which donated some ex-display play equipment.

She said: "We are thrilled with our new range of toys. The children from Chantry and St Mary Star of the Sea have made a real difference to the life of St Michael's, we have long wanted facilities for children visiting the Hospice.

"We are delighted with the support both from the schools and Early Learning Centre which has made this wish come true.'
