Science is turned into fun and games for Aldingbourne pupils

The giant skeleton is among the latest additions to the school's grounds to ensure that outdoors can be fun.

He is sited in a log cabin in a new science garden where a host of practical activities can be enjoyed.

The cabin also houses water pumps, a giant marble run, cogs and magnets to span the science curriculum.

The garden includes a fenced off wooded area suitable for environmental science activities such as bug collecting and bird watching.

The garden took many months to plan. Its opening was celebrated with a super science day. A team from the West Sussex Probationary Service built the cabin as well as completing other projects around the school off the A29 Westergate Street.

Headteacher Liz Webster said: "We are always looking for ways to develop and enhance our school environment to make school as exciting as possible for the children."

The science garden adds another dimension to lunchtimes at the school. They also boast the chance to play on a two-storey castle and a pirate ship.
