Scout group's twinning hopes

HOPES that links between local Scout troops will soon be established with Scout groups from Adur's Polish twin town, Zywiec, were expressed by farmer Trevor Passmore, after his re-election as chairman at Adur District Twinning Association's annual meeting.

He also encouraged any members interested in visiting Poland to go to Zywiec, particularly during the snowy season or during the town's August folk festival.

Adur is also twinned with Riom, France. Despite the disappointment of the cancellation of this year's planned trip to Adur by Riom, Hilary Green, retiring vice-chairman, spoke positively about future links between the two towns and of the proposed visit by Adur to Riom next year.

Angie Mills, past chairman of Adur District Council, was elected as the association's new vice-chairman.
