Scouts have night-time fun negotiating a maze

ARMED just with torches, brave members of the 7th Crawley and 1st Southgate Scout groups recently negotiated their way around Tulleys Farm's Maize Maze ight-in the dark.

The boys and girls, with their leaders, were testing out the night-time experience in the maze ready for the Fun Park’s torchlight nights which start on Friday, August 20.

This year the Tulleys Maze Fun Park has a medieval theme because the eight-acre field of maize has been carved into a knight on horseback.

Several of the Scouts decided to play the part and dress up for their torchlight experience and leaders chose the unusual venue to swear in two new recruits as Scouts into the 7th Crawley troop.

“It was really great fun doing the maze with all my mates and in the dark,” said one of the Scouts, Matthew Calver.

The torchlight nights take place on August 20, 21, 27, 28 and September 3, 4, 11 and 18, 7pm-11pm (last entry 10pm).

But if you are not a night owl, then the Tulleys Maze Fun Park, which also includes mini mazes, rides and giant trampolines, is open during the day from 10am–6pm (last entry 5pm), until Sunday, September 5 inclusive, plus weekends of September 11, 12 and 18, 19.
