Scouts rising from the ashes

RISING from the ashes! That's the confident slogan under which the 9th Bexhill Scout Group is issuing invitations to its annual meeting.

The group has been homeless since the April arson attack on the Rother wheelie bin store on Wainwright Road car park gutted their adjoining headquarters.

The group is being accommodated by the 2nd Bexhill at their Buckhurst Road headquarters as a temporary measure.

Meanwhile, the 9th are busy fund-raising towards the cost of a replacement building.

The annual meeting on Wednesday, July 25 will be at the Senlac District campsite at Kiteye Wood and will be followed by presentations to Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and their leaders and supporters.

Explorers and Scouts will be cooking the sausages and burgers for the barbecue that will follow.
