The new look McDonald's at the Ravenside Retail Park has been met with a huge thumbs up from diners.

The branch reopened last Thursday (March 3) following a six-week closure for ‘a digital transformation’.

It now boasts four self-service kiosks, iPads, free wifi and a new party room with an interactive table for children to play games on.

He owns and operates seven McDonald’s restaurants, including Ravenside.

Mr Padmore said the make-over has been ‘extremely well-received’ by customers.

He told the Observer: “I would say, without fail, from all ages we have had excitement, and real positive feedback about the changes.”

He added: “Introducing kiosks not only gives the customer a different way to order, but an easier way for them to see the menu. There are three ways to order now. You can still go to the till, or you use the kiosk and collect your food and you can go to the kiosk and get table service.”

He added: “The table service has been extremely popular and we think it offers that opportunity when people are feeling a bit rushed to get some service.”

The branch has been expanded and a new patio area has been added, creating 30 extra seats, along with the introduction of bleachers in the centre of the restaurant, which Mr Padmore describes as ‘a bit of fun’.

Other changes include extending the drive thru and children’s play area.

“The older customers love the comfortable seats. Parents like the fact they can now eat in the play area. The young people much prefer the kiosks. So it’s pleased everyone.”

The refurbishment has created 25 new jobs, with up to 20 more vacancies due to be advertised shortly.
