Those who had not visited this venue before were entranced by their surroundings and, with the majority of dancers in period costume, cameras were much in evidence throughout the evening.

The Ball, which was organised by the Sussex Folk Association, attracted dancers, not only from Sussex, but also from Hampshire and even as far afield as Suffolk.

The music for the 17th/18th century style dances was provided by Sue and Peter Hall, the dances being expertly called by John Turner.

The delicious shared supper was served by Bob and Margaret Waddell while June Axon and Philip Price ran a raffle with many lovely prizes.
