ADVENT FAIR: Saturday November 26 in the village hall at 12 noon, come along to the annual church Advent fair. Light lunches will be served, home made soup and rolls, apple pie with cream or custard along with tea and cake available during the afternoon, while you browse the goodies available for sale and the games of chance. There will be many stalls including Hilary and Bills' booze raffle, very popular and a good one to win for this time of year, Jackie's Advent apron with prizes and the ever popular tombola stalls. The bakers will have been busy with a well stocked cake stall, Sheila and Trevor's potted bulbs, gifts for Christmas, also Christmas decorations, and several games of chance. There is the opportunity to win £100 donated by Pump House Designs plus many other excellent prizes in the Grand Draw including Queens Head meal for Two, Hair styling at the Clockhouse, Meat Voucher from Archers of Westfield, Sedlescombe Stores Christmas Hamper, Golf for four at Sedlescombe Golf Club plus more. Tickets are now on sale priced £1 available in the village shop or from church members.

LATE NEWS – FATHER CHRISTMAS: Father Christmas has just left a message! He will be coming to the Advent fair at the village hall tomorrow, Saturday November 26, ready to have his photo taken with the children. What a lovely gift for family members at Christmas. Do go along and join in the fun.

COFFEE MORNING AND MINI MARKET: On Thursday December 1, from 10am to 11.30am,all the usual stalls will be on offer and refreshments including mince pies with a nice warming coffee or tea. Margaret writes “This will be the last coffee morning for 2016, we have a break in January but will return as usual on Thursday February 2 at 10am. We would like to wish all our friends best wishes for Christmas and the New Year, also thank you for your support during 2016 all helping to raise funds for our parish church”.

SEDLESCOMBE AND DISTRICT GARDEN SOCIETY: Sedlescombe & District Garden Society will be having a talk in the Village Hall by Irene Wilson from the National Gardens Scheme; the subject will be ‘All Gardens Great and Small’. This will be followed by a full afternoon tea. The date is Tuesday December 6 at 2pm. Free to Garden Society Members but non members are welcome at £5. This event has become very popular. SEDLESCOMBE SENIORS CHRISTMAS PARTY: This year’s Christmas Party for senior citizens of Sedlescombe will be held on Friday December 16 in the village hall. Tickets are £5 per person and are limited to 60 guests. Don’t delay, get your ticket today. Over Twenty tickets have already been sold! Phone Pauline or Reg on 870258 to reserve yours. If you require transport, let them know at the same time.
