LENT LUNCHES: Lent lunches continue today, Friday March 13 at 2 Forge Cottages , The Green from 12noon to 1.30pm and will continue for the nest two Fridays. It does seem perfect weather at the moment to be enjoying a bowl of home made soup and crusty bread whilst meeting and chatting to friends old and new. Last weeks lunch was well attended and is in support of these two good causes, Farm Africa and the local Seaview Project in St Leonards. Everyone is welcome to attend and Margaret looks forward to welcoming you.

MOTHERS DAY: As this Sunday March 15 is Mothering Sunday, our Parish church service will focus on giving thanks for Mothers of all ages, posies of flowers will be blessed and given to the ladies present. The definition of Mother’s Day is a celebration, honouring one’s own mother, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society,so children, of all ages, bring your mother, mummy, mum, mater along, to celebrate their role in your life and the world. You will be very welcome

SEDLESCOMBE HALL AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Sedlescombe village hall management committee will take place on Thursday March 19 in Committee Room 2. the quarterly management committee meeting will take place at 7.30pm followed by the AGM. Everyone is welcome to take part in the election process and to stand for office. Just turn up and play your part in the running of the village hall.

EASTER LILIES: It is once again time to order your Easter lilies in memory of your loved ones to decorate the church on Easter Sunday, April 5. Lilies can be dedicated for £2 each with their names being displayed on the roll of honour at the altar on Easter Sunday. To order please either call Margaret on 870808 or deliver name and payment to 2 Forge Cottages , The Green, Sedlescombe by March 22.

SEDLESCOMBE’S GOT TALENT: Do you love to entertain? Then come and be part of the show to be held in Sedlescombe village hall on Friday 6 June from 7pm. Two years ago, when it was last held, there was a wealth of talent that came forward to compete for the £100 first prize. There is no entry fee but limited spaces to give everyone a fair chance to shine on stage. Nearer the date audience tickets will be on sale, with any profits raised from this event going towards the church renovations now taking place so please mark your diaries to either take part or come along to enjoy the evening. Organised by the Friends of Sedlescombe Church Heritage Trust . To book your place to perform on the night please call Jean Dann on 882438.

THE FRIENDSHIP CLUB QUIZ NIGHT: The friendship club will be hosting a quiz night next Friday evening, March 20 at Sedlescombe village hall. If you are interested in forming a team and taking part or for further details please contact Ralph Dellow on 01424 870223 . All proceeds raised will benefit the Friendship club.
