Don’t forget to use your local shop. Sedlescombe village stores are now open once again until 7.30pm Monday to Saturday. Thank you John and Jenny for bringing back these longer opening hours through the summer months.

There is to be another fayre on the Green and the Queen’s Head gardens on Saturday July 19 Fayre from at 1.00 pm till 4.30.pm. this is being organised by Ralph Dellow. Some people in the Village supported by Demi our PCSO and our local

school are trying to raise funds to enable Christian who has cerebral palsy to be able to walk without assistance.

In addition to the usual craft stalls and games there will be a programme of entertainment throughout the afternoon including Melodeon player from 1.00 pm to 1.45 pm, Keren, a vocalist who will sing popular songs accompanied by a duo. from 1.45pm to 2.30pm, maypole dancing from 2.30pm to 3pm, K9 demonstration of dog training 3.00pm to 3.30pm this will be followed by more music from Keren and the Melodeon player. Later in the afternoon there will be a juggler and balloon modelling 4.00 pm to 4.30pm. In addition to all this other highlights include Guess the weight of a Marmalade ‘lade’ a shire horse,Amy Pennington’s portrait machine, your portrait drawn in a few minutes

Fortune teller, very popular at the Spring Fayre, a Hog roast from ’Pigs Might Fly’, a demonstration of the art of spinning – children may like to try and Luke Brabant an artist. There will be no entry fee but it is hoped you will buy lots of raffle tickets in lieu of this for which there are ten prizes.

Welcome to Carol Hodgson who takes over the role of Sedlescombe Parish Clerk and Financial Officer following the retirement of Pauline Raymond. She is an experienced clerk as she is already the clerk to Catsfield Parish council, she will also be the website manager of www.sedlescombe .org .uk. St Michaels Hospice Open garden scheme continues on Tuesday July 15 in Pett with Fairlight End, TN35 4HB garden open from 10.30am to 4.00pm. Admission is £4 to visit . Refreshments will be available throughout the day. Full details of all the gardens involved can be found in booklets available now at the village shop for a token donation of 50p.
