Don’t miss the Flower festival this weekend, Saturday September 28 and Sunday September 29 taking place in our parish church, St John the Baptist which will be open to visitors from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 12noon to 4pm on the Sunday.

The theme of the festival will be wedding anniversaries and incorporated into this will be harvest festival. To make the most of the beautiful arrangements, there will be a Harvest Evensong starting at 6p.m. on Sunday after which we will have a delicious Harvest Supper. There are many talented flower arrangers taking part and it is hoped that you will support the event and visit during the two days to admire their displays in our beautiful village church. Refreshments will include ploughman’s lunches and cream teas, as well as tea, coffee and cakes. There will also be a cake stall, book stall, bric-a-brac, tombola, and selling raffle tickets on sale for the Advent Draw. In the afternoon on both days there will be a display of memorabilia from Malcolm Tegg, who was a choir boy at the Queen’s Coronation. This Saturday, September 28 there will be an indoor Boot Fayre at the village hall, TN33 OQN, open to the public from 2-4pm. There will be many stall holders selling their goods, for you to bag a bargain. Doors open 2pm with refreshments available throughout the afternoon. All are welcome, entrance fee 50p. If you are interested in having a stall at the indoor boot fayre there may still be some space available at £10 per table, please contact Karen on 01424 882022 for further details .

The next monthly Coffee Morning and Mini-Market, sponsored by the Parish Church, takes place in the Village Hall on Thursday October at 10.00a.m to 11.30a.m. As well as coffee and a scone, there will be stalls selling cakes and jams etc, bric-a -brac, books, plants and bird food, Church post cards and notelets, a raffle and, for 50p, a chance to be weighed. As always, you will be made very welcome

Next Saturday October 5, there will be a nearly new sale at Vinehall School, Robertsbridge TN32 5JL from 2.30pm to 4pm, there will be a sale of top quality baby and children’s clothes and equipment at bargain prices. Admission £1 per person, with all proceeds raised in aid of National Childbirth Trust charity.

Now some good news for the young families and grandparents in the village, Sedlescombe pre school baby and toddler group started again last week and will meet at the Sedlescombe village hall every Tuesday morning from 10am – 11.30am during term time. Each session is only £2 to attend and refreshments are available along with lots of toys and activities for the children to enjoy. Make Tuesday morning a date to go along to meet other adults whilst your children play in a safe and friendly environment.

Pestalozzi are excited to be able to open free and low cost meditation, art and French sessions clubs up to the local community. Pestalozzi warmly invites locals to join our students for a series of informal clubs over the coming months. Meditation, unwind, relax and learn the practice of Buddhist meditation, with time for winding-down and tea afterwards. No charge, donations welcome. Next session is on Saturday 28 September from 7:30-8:30pm. French, taught by a native French speaker, this is an informal beginner’s course. No charge, donations welcome. Next session is on Sunday 29 September from 3-4pm. Art. Sketching, painting, crafting, photography and more, share your skills and passion once a fortnight. Are you interested in wine or learning more about it? Sedlescombe wine club have an event on Friday November 15 at 7.30pm when Nancy Gilchrist, Master of wine will present a talk and tasting of wines from New Frontiers. This special event will take place at the village hall and is open to all, I think that must mean all over 18, and tickets are available from Derek Wright on 01424 870035 priced £9.50 which will include the talk and six different tastings.
