Don’t miss this Saturday June 29 from 12noon till 3.30pm when Sedlescombe C E Primary School have their Strawberry Fayre. Everyone is welcome to attend this family fun filled day out. There will be side stalls, bric-a-brac, dvd and books sales and children’s toys. A barbecue will be running all day and can all be enjoyed with an ice cold Pimms. There will also be plenty of strawberries on offer to go with your refreshments too. There will be lots of other attractions going on to keep everyone entertained, these include the fantastic Water Walkers in the School pool, Laser Storm, karate demonstrations plus other activities such as face painting, nail art and tattoos and a variety of games for all age groups to enjoy.

There will be a competition running for the Flower Princess that will be held during the day for children between the ages of 5-11yrs. There will be a prize for the winner and the opportunity to ride in the Vintage Car parade at the main Sedlescombe fayre and flower show later in July. To finish the day there will be the drawing of an excellent raffle, fully supported by local businesses and including £100 Raffle. Come and enjoy the fun and support your local school. Everybody is welcome with 50 p entrance fee.

The next monthly Coffee Morning and Mini-Market, sponsored by the Parish Church, takes place in the Village Hall on Thursday July 4 at 10am to 11.30am. As well as coffee and a scone, there will be stalls selling cakes and jams etc, bric-a -brac, books, plants and bird food, Church post cards and notelets, a raffle - and, for 50p, a chance to be weighed. As always, you will be made very welcome.

Sedlescombe players pulled off another success last week with their production of Cash On Delivery by Michael Cooney at the village hall. Under the skilful direction of Tara Buchanan, all the actors gave a wonderful performance. Months of preparation goes into these shows, not least for all the backstage helpers who all seem to be highly skilled with their different departments that they work on. What we see is the great sets sets and costumes but I know there is also lots of other work that needs to take place before, during and after the show dates to make it all run so smoothly. Well done to everybody that took part, from the audience point of view it was definitely worth it!

Their next production will be the musical Guys And Dolls in March 2014, I can hear people booking their tickets already. The St Michaels Hospice Open gardens for this week are on Saturday June 29 at Bexhill Old Town when five gardens will open for you to enjoy. Entry ticket is £6 and they will be open to visitors from 10.30am to 4pm raising funds for this good cause. Refreshments and hospice stalls will also be available at Manor Gardens, De la Warr Road, TN40 1BY so this is probably a good place to start your tour from.

If you should miss out, then another chance can be had on Tuesday July 2 at Hole Park Gardens, Benenden Road, Rolvenden TN17 4JB when this garden will be open in aid of the hospice. For further details full programmes are available in Sedlescombe Stores.
