There are still tickets available for Sedlescombe Sports Association Sports Dinner tonight Friday April 20 at the Brickwall Hotel. This will be a three course dinner and coffee with the added bonus this year there will be the opportunity to dance off any overindulgence. Tickets are priced at £30 per head, available by calling Ashley Davey on 870615 or David Torrance on 870344. The dinner is open to all who wish to encourage sport in the village and also an opportunity to give your support to the volunteers who run the sports facilities which includes the new pavilion. Join them for a great night out!

Staplecross and Hollington Art Group are holding an art exhibition at Staplecross Village Hall on Friday April 20 from 7pm -9pm, and Saturday 21, Sunday 22nd from 10am- 4pm.

Advance notice - Sedlescombe Players next production the American farce “The Amorous Ambassador” will be playing at Sedlescombe village hall in June. The production will be cafe-theatre style, with tables of 8. Tickets are on sale now for Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 June priced at £ 9 without supper, also for Friday 22 and Saturday 23 June priced at £14 including supper. There has been change over at Sedlescombe Village Hall: Mr Alan Smytherman has now retired as the Manager of the Village Hall. He has been replaced by Mr David Brabants contact number 01424 871 436. The Village Hall Committee thank Alan for all the help he has given to the users of the Village Hall. Chair Pauline Glew.

Extend: Due to very low numbers of participants we have had to cancel the Extend Exercise classes at Roselands. There is a class at Battle and if anyone is interested I will gladly give them further information. Pauline Glew 01424870258.

If you are feeling in need of exercise but would also like to enjoy our beautiful countryside then on Tuesday 24 April,the Rye and District Association of the National Trust have a walk meeting at 10.30 am at the Plough Inn, Crowhurst. Two circular, hilly walks, from the Plough: 3½ morning and 4 mile afternoon are planned. Sedlescombe Spring fayre is on next weekend Saturday April 28, and there will lots of activity on and around the Green and the Queens Head. Everything will be open from 1pm starting with 1066 Pipes and Drums who will be playing in support of the day. There will be 1066 spinners so you can try your hand at this traditional craft. Messy England will be attending, with them you will be able to decorate your own piece of china, perhaps you will be trying out a design to commemorate something for the Queens Jubilee or an event in your family. There will be plenty of other craft stalls, including plants, honey, hand made cards, jewellery, fossils and gemstones with games for everyone to enjoy, not forgetting the Maypole dancers from our school. This year there will be a refreshment marquee so come and have afternoon tea with your friends and family and enjoy this unique day in Sedlescombe.
