The cars, which were seized for having no insurance or their drivers had no licence and were never claimed back, have been given to William Parker Sports College.

The engineering students will work on the cars and turn them into cars used for banger races.

PC Richard Trundle from the Road Policing Unit said: “These students will be learning how to get these vehicles back up and running and will then, with the help of myself and PC Phillip Edwards, be racing them at Arlington Raceway during the next school term.

“Elva Recovery have helped us move them around and both the police and the college are very grateful for their assistance.

“I am glad these students can learn from these cars which will benefit them in their studies.”
