The Selsey fireworks committee welcomed more than 100 guests to social evening of music, food, and entertainment at the Selsey Fireworks Presentation Evening.

Held at The Viking Club at Bunn Leisure in Selsey, the evening also saw the presentation of cheques to local charities and organisations.

The presentation night had a bit of a twist this year, as the St Johns Ambulance service gave their own presentation of the Allan Tidy silver plate to the Selsey Fireworks Committee for their continued support over the years, providing them with much needed training equipment.

The recipients of the proceeds this year were Selsey Scouts, T.S.Sturdy, Selsey RNA, Selsey Lifeboat. The Academy Selsey, Selsey Rock Challenge, Snack shack, Selsey Carers, Friends of Selsey Health Centre, St Johns Ambulance Service, Selsey Lions, Cloud 9, Sacos, 1st Responders, Selsey Festival, Royal British Legion Selsey and Wave105 (Cash for Kids).

The firework chairman thanked all of our supporters and sponsors for their continued and valued support, without which, Selsey fireworks would not be able to function. He also put out an appeal to anyone who could and would like to give up a few hours a month to come on board the firework committee.

The musical entertainment at the presentation evening was provided by two professional singers Charlie and Abby, who sung a collection of both old and new works from our theme last year, and a taster for this year’s theme. All were treated to a lavish buffet curtesy of HighHouse Insurance, and a superb disco for those who wanted to dance.

The committee wish to extend a big thank you to all those who supported them this year and attended the event, and to thank all for being so understanding as to why the event was shortened due to Health & Safety reasons.
