Selsey lifeboat crew tows angling boat to safety

The Selsey RNLI lifeboat crew helped tow an angling boat to safety after it suffered a machine failure out at sea on Friday.

The angling boat contacted the Coastguard for help, assisting support from other vessels.

However no other boats responded, so the all-weather lifeboat was launched at 3.56pm.

It located the boat at 16 miles due east of Selsey, where it had drifted from its initial location near Littlehampton.

A line was passed to the vessel and a tow was established.

The boat was then towed to Littlehampton Harbour, where it was safely berthed with the aid of Littlehampton Coastguard team.
