Shoppers raise thousands for air ambulance

Worthing shoppers have raised thousands of pounds for the air ambulance service.
Customers at Sainsbury’s in Worthing have raised more than £3,000 for Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance in a raffle to win a new convertible Mini Cooper worth £19,000.
Staff and volunteers for the charity sold tickets for the draw at the Lyons Farm store last month.

Air ambulance Lottery Manager James Cook said: “Each helicopter callout costs about £2,500 so the fantastic sum raised will effectively fund a potentially life-saving mission.”
The draw takes place on March 31 next year.
