Show gears up for 60th anniversary

THE HEATHFIELD Show will once again spearhead current thinking when it opens its gates to the public on Saturday, May 26.

This 60th anniversary show will be celebrating all that's local.

The new look Country Ways area - which had a facelift for the 2006 Show - will once more have a selection of local craftsmen exhibiting their traditional skills including a wheelwright, trug making, bee keeping and spinning.

As well people will be given the chance to take part in some of these activities and given hands-on experience of exactly how difficult it is, for example, to turn a pot.

In line with the local theme Show organisers have increased the profile of the Farmers' Market.

Ticket prices at the gate cost 10 for adults, 3 for children, 22 for a family and 8 for OAPs.

Advance tickets at special rates are available from Melina Joy Opticians, High Street, Heathfield; The Burwash Newsagents or

Wise Coaches, 74 High Street, Hailsham, and also direct from the Show Secretary, The Moorings, Pages Hill, Heathfield TN21 0UU, www.heathfieldshow.org or phone: 01435 864587.
