Smoke warning after fire at Midhurst Common
West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said crews from Midhurst, Chichester and Haslemere were called to the site near Carron Lane shortly after 4pm.
At 5.30pm, the fire service said the blaze was under control, but warned residents near the area to keep their windows and doors closed.

Hide AdThe spokesperson added: “Crews will remain on scene to damp down after bringing the fire under control.
“People living locally are advised to keep doors and windows closed as there is still some smoke in the area.”
The fire comes after a spate of incidents across the area in the past 24 hours, with eight fire engines called to a blaze near West Dean, a further four crews called to a caravan fire in Selsey, and West Sussex firefighters being called to assist efforts against a large blaze at Devil’s Dyke in the east of the county.
