Felpham Village WI held two meetings in June.

At the first, on June 7, members were entertained by Mrs Carol Ball who spoke of the many European cities she had visited.

Her commentary was supported by slides showing buildings of interest.

On June 21 members welcomed president Pip Jones back after her recent hospital stay. There was also a competition for a flower display in an egg cup, which was won by Rose Smith. Mrs Mary Campling gave a resume on the monarchs who had contributed to the assets of Windsor Castle over the years.

She explained how she came to live at the castle. Her husband, as deacon, provided them with a residence in the castle grounds.

The views from the house were as wonderful as was their life spent in such a place.

Tickets were sold for the garden party on July 19, which will take place in Audrey Grimley's garden.

The meeting ended with a group discussing on the formation of a book club with member Gwenyth Barrett in charge of the venture.
