Spooky walk lifts veil on Arundel’s ghoulish past

GHOSTBUSTERS who yearn to hear stories of mysterious events from long ago and learn about spooks and spirits are being called upon.

Candlelit ghost walks around Arundel, believed by many to be the most haunted town in England, take place in late October and early November.

Local historian Mark Phillips – who has a wealth of eerie tales – will be leading the walks.

Stories from the Ghosts, Murders and Mysteries of Olde Arundel walk are all based on written accounts of paranormal activity, as well as grizzly details on two gruesome Arundel murders.

Walkers will not enter any of the buildings which are believed by some to be the focus of supernatural happenings. But they will pause outside the haunts of figures such as the Blue Man, the White Bird, the Lady in the White Dress, the Woman in the Blue Gown and a mysterious, hunched figure.

The walks, which will raise funds for Arundel Museum, begin at 8pm on Wednesday and Thursday, October 29-30 and Monday and Tuesday, November 3-4, and last for about an hour and a quarter.

Groups will be limited to 15 people and are suitable for accompanied children aged 12 and over. Tickets at £5 must be booked in advance and are available from the museum.
