St Leonards motorcyclist injured in Bexhill crash

A motorbike rider was injured in a crash last night (Thursday, July 30).

At 9.55pm police were called to the junction of the A259 Barnhorn Road with Green Lane, Bexhill, where a car and a motorcycle had been in collision.

The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man from St Leonards and riding an orange Honda CBR1000, sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Conquest Hospital for treatment.

The car, a red Volvo 940, was driven by a 66-year-old man from Westham, near Eastbourne. He sustained a cut to his head but did not require hospital treatment.

Two passengers in his car, a 65-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman, both from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, were unhurt.

The A259 was closed to traffic between Little Common roundabout and its junction with the B2095 atv the Lamb Inn for approximately two hours while the incident was dealt with.
