Stabbing

A Bognor Regis man has been remanded in custody after a police officer was stabbed in a hand.

Lee Thompson (37) will appear at Chichester Crown Court on January 21.

He has been charged with assault, resisting arrest and possession of offensive weapons.

He appeared in Worthing Magistrates' Court last Saturday.

Mr Thompson has been accused of stabbing a policeman who answered a 999 call from an address in Steyne Street.

The alleged offence took place in the area of the Steyne Street and Canada Grove junction at about 8.30pm on January 3.
