Stage is set for Arun’s talented young musicians

MARCH is the month for music, as talented young performers tune up for the competition to find the area’s finest.

They will be bidding to succeed flautist Andy Martin, the 2012 Arun Young Musician of the Year, in the competition sponsored by Littlehampton Rotary Club.

This weekend March 9/10), the music festival opens with two days of competition for those aged between five and 19, playing a wide range of instruments or singing light classical and light entertainment numbers, at Georgian Gardens Primary School, Rustington.

Rrofessional adjudicators will assess the performances by soloists, duets, choirs, ensembles and bands, giving them encouraging and constructive advice and selecting the best to play at a gala concert at 2.30pm on Saturday, March 23 at Windlesham House School, Washington.

The Arun Young Musician of the Year and the winners of other prizes and bursaries will be named at the concert.
